Deena Fontana Moraes

Deena Fontana Moraes founded Unbridled Retreats after a distinguished 20-year career in education and school administration. Upon her son’s college graduation, she stepped into a new season of life, trading her role as a single-parent and school administrator for a mission of sharing yoga and self-growth. Today, she uses her extensive experience in mentorship to guide others toward their own unbridled potential.

Erica Rideau

Erica leads yoga classes that are focused on presence, breath and unity. Her goal as a teacher is to create and hold space for practitioners to be embodied with mind and spirit. She fosters a spirit of going all in, giving all to the practice, and allowing students to have an experience. her classes allow everyone to feel safe, feel free to do the healing work of yoga and find the beauty is in the details. She gives clear precise instructions, works to minimize confusion, and provides students the opportunity to explore within their own bodies and learn. Yoga is a gift that she simply has to share with others.

Appelusa McGlynn

Appelusa McGlynn, FDNP is a graduate of Maharishi University earning her BAAS studying higher states of consciousness, Maharishi Yoga, and Ayurveda. Appelusa is a practitioner of Functional Diagnostic Nutrition®, helping women with chronic health complaints thrive again through functional labwork investigation and personalized 1:1 coaching. As a certified somatic breathwork facilitator, she teaches the benefits of coherent breathing and intermittent hypoxia training. Additionally, Appelusa is certified in Biofield Tuning, Vibrational Fascia Release, Reiki, and Biofeedback and offers private therapy sessions. Ayurveda is the science of self-healing. As Ayurveda teaches, to support others in their healing, you must authentically engage in your own. @appelusawellness

Shannon Hiramoto

Shannon is deeply committed to nurturing and sustaining the island’s creative ecosystem through business and the nonprofit field. Since 2007, she has created one-of-a-kind garments under the label machinemachine, working within a circular fashion model that transforms secondhand materials into new clothing. This practice reflects her belief that creativity and environmental responsibility are inseparable, and that fashion can be both expressive and regenerative. Shannon enjoys sharing her extensive knowledge and leading others to discover their one of a kind creations as well.

David Kaimana Moraes

Born and raised on the beautiful island of Kauai, David Kaimana combines his local island roots with an Ivy League education from Columbia University. An avid surfer and explorer, he takes immense pride in sharing his intimate knowledge of the island’s hidden gems and vibrant history with every guest. You can count on David to navigate you safely to camp, lead you on soul-stirring hikes through tropical landscapes, and gather everyone around a warm, crackling fire at night. His passion for his home ensures that you don’t just visit Kauai—you truly connect with its spirit.
